| While travelling across an old, wreckage-strewn battlefield, Mellowlink's motorcycle breaks down. As he builds a campfire he is pricked by a thorn from the Tree of Chekoku, which is supposed to cause "bad illusions". The next thing he knows, he is back in the trenches with his old comrades from the "Schweppes Platoon", an armor hunting unit. He relives the unit being given a suicidal mission just before the century-long war was to end, their brave but ultimately hopeless resistance to overwhelming enemy forces, and the posthumous betrayal of his comrades by their superiors... |
