Steampunk: (Genre) Considered a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction (Sci-Fi), Steampunk generally refers to stories which are based on English Victorian era technology in which steam was the primary power source or use Victorian era values as a reference point, and will often have a futuristic spin as part of the story. The novels of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne's are cited as classic examples of this high-tech innovation in a low-tech world genre. Princess Liliana agrees and former guild person and now Sky Pirate Dio Eraclea takes the help of the Turan ship and stages its destruction. Now, acting rulers Liliana and her younger sister Milia must work with the Sky Pirates to take her country back.

Watch It is the early 20th century, and Raishin Akabane is a student puppeteer from Japan, who has come to the Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machine Arts in England to study the emerging field of Machinart: a combination of magic and technology with military applications. He is accompanied by a girl named Yaya, who is actually his Automaton: a living machine doll powered by magical circuits specialized in hand-to-hand combat. In the Academy, there is a combat tournament exclusive to the Top 100 students and their automata, to decide who shall be bestowed with the title of "Wiseman", the greatest puppeteer.

The series opens with an attack upon the White House by a mysterious man of awesome powers. It turns out, though, that what he was really looking for was the Library of Congress! Meanwhile, Tokyo substitute teacher Yomiko Readman is a young woman who cannot stop reading books. She goes into bookstores that have her face on the wall ('Our #1 Customer') While in some exclusive bookstore (Members Only) she finds an original copy of an extremely rare book entitled Immortal Beloved. While reading it a strange man riding a giant grasshopper shows up and steals it! Yomiko gets very angry and spontaneously generates a giant string of paper which she hurls at the mantis, locking it to the ground! Confused, another man walks up to her and says, 'Oh it's you, Agent Paper'.

Drawing on the success of the first ROD, the story continues. Yomiko "The Paper" Readman has gone missing for some four years now, but her best friend from school Nenene (Say that 3 times fast) still believes she's alive. An accomplished author, Nenene and her 3 bodyguards, who have special paper abilities of their own, go between Japan and Hong Kong looking for Yomiko. On occasion the bodyguards earn side money from accepting contracts to recover uncommon items and research exceptional situations, which always seems to involve people with special powers and abilities.
