The story centers around the kid Genki who gets the game Monster Rancher and is eager to play it. What he didn't expect was to literally get sucked into the game. It seems that in the gameworld, the female character Holly put a disc into a special slot in a shrine to activate a monster and gets Genki instead. The show then centers on their attempts to gather new monster allies in their fight against the evil Moo and ultimately find the legendary Phoenix. |

Yuta Akigawa is an elementary school boy who has a problem with computers. He had a scary incident as a baby and has avoided computers and technology ever since. Then his family moves to a city run entirely by computers and has begin carrying a cellphone.
