Koi Kaze - 4: Evening Shower

Koushiro's female boss is worried about him as he shaves at work for a marriage meeting. She wonders if the breakup is still bothering him. Odagiri, the co-worker with the lolicon fetish (high school girls), gets worked up when he learns that Koushiro is taking Nanoka out to see a movie. He desperately wants to go with them, but Koushiro will have nothing of it. His boss remembers meeting Nanoka at this building across from the amusement park and wonders why he didn't say she was his sister then. Even more confusing to her is the fact that Koushiro flirted with Nanoka then.

Later, Koushiro and Nanoka are walking through the city streets and she wonders why he had to shave. As they walk and talk (Koushiro getting embarrased that she walks so close to him), a young child accidently lets go of her baloon which Koushiro catches. Nanoka thinks it is cool of him to do so. As Nanoka retrieves her student ID, Koushiro's ex-girlfriend passes them by and gives him a strange look, causing him to get irritated with Nanoka and go buy the movie tickets without her.

That night at home, Nanoka is upset when she arrives home. Koushiro had sent Nanoka home without him and didn't tell her where he was going. In fact, he went to see his ex-girlfriend to explain Nanoka. She finds it amusing that he would worry about the appearance of his dating a high school girl. He doesn't find her remarks amusing and starts to leave, but she invites him to dinner instead. At that moment, he's reminded that it has been three months since he had sex with a woman.

As the evening rains fall, the two of them head to a Japanese eating establishment. He asks about her job and she's surprised that he remembered how much she hated her job because she didn't think he listened to her. She teases him about his shaved appearance and the possibility he did it for his high school girlfriend. On the walk home on the wet streets, she tells him that she's quitting her job and will be moving out of her apartment soon. Further, her new boyfriend will be coming. She honestly wishes him luck and walks away.

Back home, Nanoka is reading a magazine and is told by her father not to stay up too late. She holds the bear given to her by Koushiro and ponders while Koushiro walks home and thinks of his failed relationship. He feels he wasn't with her just for sex, but wonders about falling in love and honestly yearning for someone. Arriving home, he begins to undress and toss his clothing in the hamper when he acccidently knocks Nanoka's bra on the floor. He looks at it for a while and holds it. He then squats to sniff her bra. As he does, Nanoka comes down down the stairs into the laundry room to see him in his underwear, but takes off because of it.

Later that night, Koushiro "meditates" in bed, and hates himself for doing so.

The next morning, Koushiro comes down stairs to see Nanoka outside cutting her toenails. She appologizes for barging in on him in the laundry room and promises to be more careful in the future. She asks that they go see a movie again together but requests that this time they come home together and smiles brightly. He seemingly agrees.

OK, I've made it to episode 4 which is the one DD warned of. ^_^; I will be proceeding on.

So, this is where Koushiro's lack of sex clouds his judgement and he "meditates" to thoughts of his sister (this is not shown, but the fact that he sniffed her bra and then is in bed with the tissues followed by his angry reaction strongly imply it). I suspect that he wanted to have sex with his ex-girlfriend and she clearly saw the sexual tension between them. However, he went the nice guy route and didn't try to initiate anything with her and she took the out to let him know about her future plans. I'm not sure that she would have slept with him (I doubt it), but in telling him her future plans, it in effect closed the door on the possibility of their relationship restarting. So I understand the loneliness and sexual frustration, but that doesn't lessen the creepiness of his actions that night.

I look forward to seeing more though.
