A Japanese office worker died at her desk after living a life that lacked fulfillment. She is reincarnated as Dahlia Rosetti, daughter of Carlos Rosetti, a fairly well known 'Magic Artificier'. A magic arrtificier is someone who makes magic devices, which allow ordinary people to employ magic in certain tasks whereas only a handful can use it without them. Dahlia vows that she, too, will become an artificier, and comes up with a clever idea for a magic stone powered hair dryer. After her father dies and her marriage falls apart she realizes that she will have to make a life for herself in this trade.

Once the semi-novel basic premise of this show--magic devices--had been explained, I found that my interest rapidly fell off as the story shifted to Dahlia. She has a goal, is determined to reach it, and has the ability to do so. But other than that, all we know about her is that she was once a Japanese office worker. During episode one she never compared her new life to her old one; does the even remember it? It sounds like she has turmoil ahead as her father will die and her fiance will abandon her, but for now she's pretty boring. And so are 'magic devices'. As I have said before, there's nothing inherently fascinating about magic to me. It is just the ability to ignore the laws of nature. I think the invention of devices that don't need magic to work would be more interesting. Coming up with those would be much more difficult. So, neither the main character nor the premise of this show piqued my interest and I was impatient for the episode to end.
