Kinsou no Vermeil

A picture is worth a thousand words, and I choose the illustration above because it probably summarizes this show better than I ever could. When the notion of a guy in some sort of relationship with a demon woman was first revealed, the thought occurred to me that maybe this show would have a little novelty to it. But I quickly got the message that the size of Vermeil's tremendous breasts might be the only 'original' thing about this show. And that is pretty much correct. Vermeil is a kinky demon who uses lines like "C'mon, Alto, give me some of that thick, potent stuff inside you!" (she was actually referring to his mana). And, like the protagonist in practically every sword & sorcery anime, he has a ton of it and therefore is capable of pretty much anything. I soon got the impression that the acting and storytelling here was not particularly ambitious. And, the farther along it went, the more this show was looking like porn. Suggestive yet amateurish; I would have described this show as juvenile if it weren't for the ecchi. Oh God--this is in fact the cheapest, weakest sort of anime trash one could imagine. Vermeil is a seductress with otherwise little or no personality, and Alto doesn't have much of one either. We get a view of the crotch of Kudelfeyt, Alto's jealous sort-of girlfriend. Is was quite clear what angle this show was using to attract viewers. This is one of those shows for which I found myself composing dialogue of my own with which I would have replaced the stock lines in hopes of salvaging something. What a waste.
