If you didn't know, Carl Macek (co-founder of Streamline Pictures and producer of Robotech) has passed away on Saturday from a massive heart attack. My condolences goes out to his family. For me, this kind of hits me hard because he was one of the reasons why I got into anime. Without Macek bringing Robotech to the US, I may not have been a fan of anime at all. Even with other animes that were out at the time like Battle of the Planets or Voltron, Robotech was the main reason why I love anime and still do to this very day. So, thank you Mr. Macek for giving me my reason for being an anime fan.
