Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor (1990)--I'm not so sure...

Somehow 1990 seems an impossibly early date for the second Patlabor OVA series, "Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor (1990)". I'm looking at a VHS tape which says "Original Japanese version copyright 1992 Headgear/Emotion/TFC". I know 1990 was the date listed at the "DVD Verdict" website, but I think they got it wrong. If I remember correctly, 1990 was the year the TV series debuted.

Okay, I stand corrected--apparently this second OVA series really did become available in 1990, and the run extended into 1992. With the dates so close together, wouldn't it be less confusing to use suffixes like "OVA 1", "OVA 2" and "TV"? That seems to be the way most other websites handle the problem.

I admit that these names are confusing but so are the relations between these animes, they build a complex dependency structure (and one very different from the release date order). I tried to name them as officially as possible because I needed that to combine two external sources as to find out which R1 information matches which CAR entry.
