| Bocca and Sayoko stop in a town that is in eternal twilight. On the shore is a strange lighthouse that whenever it shines red, everyone closes their drapes. Bocca camps out in a tent and Sayoko goes out to pickpocket some suckers. Sayoko just picked a girl Quechan when the lighthouse turns red. A large egg appears and unfolds to reveal a large bird. Bocca shows up in time and stops it. (We hear Bocca's trademark FLASH before he shoots) Sayoko isn't convinced that it was a monster. The girl's family gives them a room in a posh hotel that is visited by a bunch of pigs in little tubs (WTF?). Later a ship docks and a small girl leaves it. She is surrounded by a bunch of locals carrying guns and pitchforks. She then shows them exactly what power Medusa has (She turns people into stone). Later we see a bunch of people yelling 'Viva Monster Union'. Bocca finds out that the whole town knows about the child sacrifice and notices the large number of unusual 'statues' around town. | |

Too bad they made Bocca's key word Flash. It's supposed to be Flush. See the others when they appear. We also see that Sayoko is starting to get the hots for Bocca (Damn girl, didn't she have the hots for Kurofune already?) Lol except Sayoko forgot that Bocca is dense and he walks out on her. Umm did I mention she was half naked lying down on a bed with her Yukata wide open? :) Jan-chan As per Forbin's mention, Sayoko is getting bothered that after having traveled with Bocca for a week (sleeping in a small tent with him), he has not even tried to make a pass at her. Is there something wrong with him? (Well, actually – he feels that Sayoko is Kurofune’s girl and he is not going to do his Melos-sensei any wrong.) But Sayoko is not going to let him get off the hook and takes delight in teasing him mercilessly. The strange little pigs with tubs (and yes, they are very strange) are just some this series weird abstract symbols. It is intended to represent the Monster’s strange influence in bringing an unnatural prosperity to this otherwise empty seaside town. | |
