Stretch: Episode eight tells us a good deal about Tanikaze's background and why he is considered important and has gotten special treatment. I doubt if I understood everything, but I think I grasped enough to keep track of what's going on. The fact that people can be cloned, brains can be transferred to alternate bodies, and all sorts of tricks like this are possible make it difficult to keep track of who's who, but are intriguing nevertheless. What may be the critical issue of the series, which was revealed briefly at the end of the last episode, is expanded here: Hoshijiro may not be dead after all. She may be worse than dead, however--her body may have been possessed and maybe cloned by the Gauna somehow. One 'copy' of her is recovered, and surely the effect on Tanikaze's feelings will be delicious. I had suspected for awhile that a sort of romantic triangle involving those two and Izana might develop, and maybe that is still possible. Whatever happens, I hope Sidonia will be a 26-er. This is truly quality stuff, and I'm eating it up. I may have to watch it twice to 'get' everything, but in this case I wouldn't mind at all.
