In the land of Hinomoto in the year 1989, railroads have largely been rendered obsolete by revolutionary Aerocraft technology and many minor lines are going out of business. A group of 'Raillords', androids shaped like cute girls who control the operation of trains, assemble to discuss 'revolutionary' ideas to reverse this decline.

(Two episodes watched):

Other than a still photo or two, I don't think railroad locomotives or cars make any appearance in episode one. This show will clearly be primarily about the Raillords themselves. We get a brief introduction to a wide cast of kawaii girls wearing various uniforms. And then episode one is over. About the only hint we get about the plan that is coming together is that it will involve 'merch' (merchandise). How that will reverse the decline of railroads is anyone's guess, but I guess I will watch episode two. This problem in the land of Hinomoto closely parallels the situation in present-day Japan, except that Japan has no Raillords to call upon. The Raillords form 'Breakout Groups' to brainstorm merch ideas. I got a laugh from the offhand mention of the beverage one of them was drinking; otherwise this show is mostly about moe artificial girls rather than humor.
