| During a brief vacation Lu and Yao head for "Miami Western Village" to do a little bounty hunting in this parody of Old West films. Their target is the notorious killer known only as "Maria Rose" who has a bounty on her head that is approaching ten million Miami Dollars. They meet Julio Peacemaker, another bounty hunter who carries a genetically engineered infant alligator on his shoulder. Julio proposes they work as a team, since his most impressive skill is not his marksmanship, but rather his sense of smell! | |

| Being the first episode of the second volume of Miami Guns, I was anxious to see if this one would match the quality of the first four. My first impression is that although enjoyable, the overall quality seems to have dropped a notch or two. Nevertheless, I appreciate the subtitled version's retaining (and explaining through the translation notes) the pun about the word "Debakame". Even if it takes so long to explain that I don't get much of a laugh out of it, I enjoy learning something about Japanese culture. Also amusing was the case of mistaken identity--you'll never see this one coming! The fact that I've written so much about this episode suggests that it's not bad at all. My favorite line: "You smell delicious--cactus flower and gasoline" --Julio | |
