Synopsis
After the brouhaha in the capital, Menou and Akari go on a pilgramage. Their first stop is in Libelle, a city notorious for a 'despicable' faction known as 'The Fourth'. It is the arch enemy of Menou's master, Flame, and is aware that Menou has arrived. It is led by the daughter of the Duke of Libelle, who seems childish and naive but clearly has a secret. At Momo's suggestion, Menou tries another way of getting rid of Akari but without success.
Comments
The little summary of where things stand that appeared at the start of the episode was helpful after the brain-scrambling episode six. It sort of allowed me to get my feet back on the floor. But some things still don't make any sense: like, why does Akari (apparently) want to be killed? Does her love of Menou go that deep? She seems fairly rational most of the time. Or does she sense that she's really unkillable and can always rewind time if her dear friend makes another attempt? How much does she remember of what happened in Garm? And, even after the collossal scam that she discovered at the very top of her church, Menou remains a loyal Executioner? And still believes that all Otherworlders must be killed, even though the disaster that orphaned her was at least partly the fault of Archbishop Orwell? In a way I'm glad that this show isn't making too much of what happened in episode six, but in another I can't help feeling that I have missed something important and something is wrong here.
