| I was thinking, Akari's execution is only a couple of days away, and Menou apparently hasn't started liking her yet, so how will she be spared? We get the answer in this episode, in which Menou and Momo (with the unlikely aid of Princess Ashuna) independently stumble across a great conspiracy that smashes everything they thought they were fighting for. It turns out that none other than the Archbishop herself has been exploiting the powers of Otherworlders, and particularly wanted Akari's in order to grant herself a sort of immortality. I was taken completely by surprise, and the episode does a good job of bouncing back and forth between what Menou and Akari are experiencing and what Momo and Ashuna are. Where the story will go from here is anyone's guess; after being grievously betrayed, what new goal will Menou set for herself? I just hope everything will be as good as it was before this big reset. |
