I was disappointed by this episode. Episode two had left me thinking that this was looking like an intriguing thriller with a sophisticated plot. But here Menou and Akari get entangled with a terrorist plot to kidnap princess Ashuna who is on the train to Garm with them. Goddamn terrorists! They always seem to crop up in anime just when they are least welcome. Also annoying was the way Menou, Momo and the Princess are all such deadly martial artists that anyone who tries to shoot them with a gun (an 'Ether gun' here) might as well put that gun to their own head. It's totally unrealistic and rather than thrill me it makes me feel that these girls are actually in no danger at all, which is boring. We do learn that Akari has tremendous Ether, which seems to be the basic source of energy in this world and sort of the equivalent of mana in other anime. Akari does a good deed which will no doubt cause Menou to start having second thoughts about whether she should help kill her.
