Synopsis
Menou slips into the palace, finds the second Lost One, Akari Tokitou--and discovers that she is unkillable. Her Pure Concept ('Time Regression') has the effect of reversing time itself when she is killed, thus undoing her death and making her basically immortal. But Akari does not remember what happened during the cancelled time period, so she doesn't know that Menou tried to kill her. Menou convinces Akari that she must trust her and flee from the palace, which they do. Menou contacts the Archbishop, who instructs her to bring Akari to church headquarters in the city of Garm, where a 'Ceremonial Hall' that can eliminate any otherworlder exists. Kono insists on going as well, though she will be trailing the two from a distance. Menou tells Akari that they are making this journey because a way to send her back to Japan exists in Garm, but Akari isn't particularly eager to return home. Meanwhile, King Grisarika has been arrested and will be tried for heresy. While on their way to Garm, Menou and Akari encounter Princess Ashuna at the railroad station.

This is seeming fairly original and intriguing. I suspect Menou will find that she can't help liking Akari and will question her orders. Kono, meanwhile, is already jealous of this strange girl and will no doubt wish she was gone. I wonder what role Princess Ashuna will fill. The story seems to be well packaged, that is, both unusual and moving forward at a good clip and thereby holding my interest. I delayed watching this episode because I wasn't all that enthused by episode one, but now I'm looking forward to episode three. The fact that I am compliling individual episode reviews is indicative of the somewhat higher hopes I now hold for this show.
