Stretch: Nothing radical happens in episode nine, but it expands on the plot angles that have been building up 'til now. Tanikaze struggles to make sense of what exactly this thing that was recovered from the battle with the Gauna is. A technician notices that it takes an interest in the special weapons that the mobile suits use (will some shocking secret about them be revealed to us?). Tanikaze continues his duties as a pilot and recovers the glory he lost; things almost seem to be going too well to be true, in fact. And the aristocratic pilot who used to command him has to take a leave of duty due to strange and disturbing dreams he's been having. The tale behind this show is definitely a true work of literature, not just a quick and cheap anime plot.
