| Having decided to recruit corporal Oland as a new member of the 3rd section – Pumpkin Scissors Relief Unit, 2nd Lt Alice Malvin gave him orders to show up at the main headquarters at 8:30am – SHARP! And at 8:31, Corporal Oland is LATE! Sometime in the morning, the newly recruited Corporal Oland shows up at the main gate of the military headquarters. After some confusion at the gate and after getting lost in the maze of the headquarters building, Corporal Oland manages to show up at the Pumpkin Scissors unit offices, much to Lt Malvin’s frustration. The unit has received a report of an abuse of power by a member of the nobility. It appears that a Viscount has taken the sport of hunting wild game to a new low! The viscount has decided to revise the rules and now has taken to hunting prisoners in his own personal tank. Lt Alice Malvin, Corporal Oland and two other subordinates all pile into an amphibious jeep to make the long trip to the Viscount’s mansion, intent on confronting him about this serious report as to the abuse of his powers. | |

| Stretch: The Oland vs. tank fight seemed kind of anticlimactic to me; for one thing, he used pretty much the same tactic as last time, i.e., getting up close and firing his armor-piercing pistol through view slits. It kind of reminds me of Armor Hunter Mellowlink (Kikou Ryohei Mellowlink (OVA)), in which episodes tended to end with a David vs. Goliath contest between the protagonist and one or more mobile suits. However, care was taken to make sure Mellowlink used a different trick to prevail each time, so the fights remained interesting. I hope Oland employs clever tactics as well; molotov cocktails, for one? | |
