| Hazumu has a strange dream involving the summer festival, Tomari and Yasuna. She agrees to go to this year's festival with both of them, and Ayuki as well. They will be dressed in yukatas, and Asuta is eager to see Hazumu in this manner. Tomari's parents are surprised, to say the least, when their tomboyish daughter asks where she might get a yukata; eventually Yasuna loans her one as thanks for inviting her to the recent courage test. Sora does some quick research about the romantic implications of the summer festival and becomes intrigued. Namiko, meanwhile, hopes to attract him by dressing up herself. Hazumu's parents are surprised that she doesn't remember a festival incident which once made him (before the sex change) cry. At the festival, Hazumu finds herself strangely anxious when called upon to make choices... | |

| At first I had a bad feeling about the way this childhood trauma thing was going, as I feared it would become another hokey emotional problem like Yasuna's inability to see boys (whatever happened to that?). Fortunately, it worked out okay. What happened to Asuta and Namiko, though? I wish something had been done with that, like a little joke after the ED sequence. At one time I counted no less than seven fansub outfits cooperating on various versions of Kashimashi, but this was the last AVI episode I could find, and it was labelled as a rushed job with an apology for the inferior quality. Interest in this series seems to have fallen off drastically. (it turns out that the day after I wrote this, the corrected version of this episode was released, and episode 10 a day or two later) | |
