| Masaru mentions that the country has a new Prime Minister--Kifuujin Gou (and Masaru especially likes his hairstyle). Masaru, Fuumin and Machahiko visit the Principal/Susan to wish him a happy new year before winter break begins. Fuumin notices a prominently displayed Kifuujin Gou poster, who the Principal says was once "one of my followers". He explains that Kifuujin attended this school back when he was a new teacher. In those days Kifuujin was troublesome delinquent, and Susan wasn't on good terms with the other teachers. But Susan felt somehow in tune with Kifuujin, and one day vowed he would change the school when he became Principal someday. Kifuujin insisted that could never happen, since Susan couldn't even "move" the school at all in the present. Susan proceded to demonstrate that Gou was wrong... | |

| This episode is actually entitled as episode 52, and when I first started watching it I was sure somebody had screwed up and put the wrong episode in the sequence. There were only supposed to be 48 episodes, though, and over time it gradually occured to me that a show like this, which continually plays with your mind, would have thought nothing of assigning an absurd number to an episode. I finally watched it, and yes, this is really the 21st episode, since scenes from it are replayed at the start of episode 22. Possibly the only episode which has a title that doesn't begin with "Masaru and--"! This one makes you wonder--just how old is the Principal/Susan after all? | |
