| The "Doppa Army Police Department (a military prison) is a place where convicts perform backbreaking labor in a near-depleted Jijirium mine. It lies on an island, and is virtually escape proof since only once a year do the tides drop low enough to expose the "Flower Road" which connects it to the mainland. Commander Shisatsu, the sadistic warden, shows his true nature as he deals with an attempted escapee. Among a batch of 13 new convicts he is shocked to recognize Mellowlink, and wonders if this is just a coincidence or if his secrets are about to be exposed. Shisatsu has him brutally tortured in hopes of learning who he's working for, and other prisoners, who are plotting an escape attempt during the upcoming appearance of the Flower Road, are suspicious of this newcomer. Mellowlink's only allies are a group of female entertainers who have come to perform the monthly "Imonkai"... |
| The first half of this episode was kind of confusing, since Mellowlink had been a free man at the end of the last one, which had dealt with flashbacks to his betrayal and conviction. So, I initially assumed this one was a flashback as well, until the girls appeared. Still, the way it worked out was kind of neat--funny at times (the girls performing before a horde of sex-starved convicts) and also exciting (the showdown on the Flower Road). |
