| The private detective, Kuro Dijuhji, finds himself hired by Ruri Hadou, the young heir to the richest financial group in the city of Arkham (wiki), to find a special book - a magical grimoire - but she somehow neglects to mention the name of the book that he is to find. In searching for clues on any magical book, Kuro has a strange visit to a bookshop where he asks the shop owner about where he might be able to find a magical grimoire. She responds that he will have to continue looking, but she is certain that he is destined to encounter a powerful book soon. While resting in his car outside of the bookstore, a young lady leaps from a rooftop and into his lap. She is being pursued Dr West and a group of henchmen from the Black Lodge. Kuro guns the engine and together they escape. Dr West and his gunmen catch up with Kuro and the girl later on that evening at a riverbank. The girl turns to Kuro and with a kiss, she names herself to be Al Azif (the arabic name for the Necronomicon), an ancient and powerful grimoire. She proclaims that they are now bonded by a pact and Kuro finds himself transformed into a taller red-eyed magus, while the cute Al Azif becomes a little-chibi. Together they defeat the Black Lodge gangsters, but they have to retreat when Dr West attacks with a giant robot. And then Al Azif detects a deus-machina – a giant robot warrior called Demonbane – a weapon that they can use to defeat Dr West. | |
