Outgoing Link Policy

FAQ | Pages | Formatting Rules | Wiki Namespaces
You have many opportunities to provide links to other sites from here. For the most part, I don't care what you link to. Please feel free to link to resources and sites that you find useful. Unfortunatly, there are a few restrictions.

Policy

I can not condone linking to any download service that includes shows licensed for distribution in the US (unless, of course, the download service is licensed). Additionally, I can't condone linking to any unlicensed download service that charges a fee. And finally, some Japanese publishers/producers have requested that their material not be made available, we will respect these wishes by not linking to downloads for their products.

Reporting a violation

Please report violations by starting a thread in the discussion associated with this wiki entry.

Enforcement

I will be dealing with violations as they are reported to me and as I come across them on my own. I won't be doing an exaustive search myself.

How violations are dealt with

If it is a URL listed in "other sites" then I will remove the URL and, if I know who added it, notify the adder. Often I will not know who added it.

If it is inline in a review… I'm unsure of what best practice would be for this. I'll be getting advice on this one.

Two possibilities:

  1. I will edit the review such that the link is no longer present and then notify the reviewer.
  2. I will mark the review such that it won't be displayed until the reviewer updates it again and then notify the reviewer.
My tendancy is go with the second one. It means that readers are never presented with a review that was edited by someone other then the reviewer.
