For what's essentially a one-shot OVA to promote a manga series, Riding Bean was quite entertaining for what it offers. Our lead, Bean, and his partner, Rally, are couriers who get tasked with having to protect the daughter of a wealthy millionaire, unaware they are getting conned in an elaborate setup. With 45 minutes for running time, there's enough offered here to engage you as Bean rides throughout the city of Chicago in his tricked-out sportscar to protect Chelsea and try piecing together what is going on, eventually catching up to those who conned him. Despite the obvious animation shortcuts this OVA pumps out, the chase and action scenes are still exciting to see in showing off how badass Bean, Rally and their sportscar are with car chases, getting the masterminds who conned them and having confrontations with police and other thugs. The Western-style 80s music is also a nice-touch with its upbeat and energetic beats making for a nice compliment to the exciting action that unfolds with Riding Bean. If you're a fan of 80s action anime, this is a decent time-killer worth checking out.

The Riding Bean story was too short for me...1OVA?!?! Sheesh...Bean is a courier, who happens to be wanted by the police...He gets framed for a kidnapping, and the story that this OVA takes us on is a really fun and cool ride...Riding Bean has good car chases, and cool cars!!! I really like Bean's...I only wish there was more...

This is a short amd sweet ova which I can always happily watch. It has an old 70s/80s American feel to it which supplemented by the music and the characters themselves.

I think its an OVA of GunSmith Cats so there are a few things I don't understand about Bean Bandit; if you see it for yourself you'll see what i mean.

Fun OVA though.

Riding Bean is a raucous romp of action and comedy pulled off well. The whole story revolves around returning a kidnapped kid, but the car chases and one-liners are enough to keep you focused from the simple story.
Riding Bean wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, but after a few minutes, it isn't even noticable.
Like mentioned above, if you liked Gunsmith Cats or are looing for a quick action flic to watch, you should do yourself a favor and check this out.

Rent 7 8 7 6 5 Midnighter [series:239#94]
Riding Bean is a pretty solid little flick. The only reason I gave it a rent instead of a buy is because it runs a little short to drop 25 bucks on.
Other than that, Riding Bean was a fun, humerous, and downright cool action film about the best courier in town, Bean Bandit. If you like fast cars and guns, not to mention some fan-service (fan-favorite Gunsmith Cats is a spin off of Riding Bean) with a better story than usual, Riding Bean is for you.
The animation was nice, very smooth and fluid, with great attention to detail on the cars and guns. The art was nice, fitting in nicely with the light-hearted, quirky tone of the show. The charater designs were pretty good, Bean looks a bit like Ash from Evil Dead.
And Like Ash from Evil Dead, almost every line Bean utters is classic and quotable. Sure, it's kind of cheesy, but hey, so is Bond. And you'll never see Bond shrug off a magnum shot to the head...
There are a few plot-holes, but you either won't notice or won't care once the 20mm shells start flying.
Filled with more cars, guns, and fun dialogue than you can shake a sawed-off at, Riding Bean is over-the-top fun for any Otaku.
If you liked Gunsmith Cats and want to see what started it, or you just like fun action movies, check out Riding Bean.
