Peeping Life
(Two episodes watched):
If ever there was a 'slice-of-life' anime, this is it. In one episode of this odd series, a couple are at a movie theater. The guy suggests they see a love movie, but the girl feels that that could only mean that he isn't already in love with her, as he has assured her. A nonsensical argument ensues. There's really no punchline, the whole thing is just absurd and amusing. Sometimes the approach works and sometimes it doesn't; the argument between apparently the same couple in another episode was just pathetic. Perhaps that particular one was too realistic to be funny. A crude form of animation is employed and the whole thing has a sort of homemade feel to it, but apparently it was shown on TV. I stumbled upon this show when, while searching for new summer 2013 releases, I noticed an episode of 'Peeping Love - World History'. In that one an ornately dressed man and woman from the Samurai era are kneeling before each other in completely proper fashion--except they are arguing about whether he can remember what she was wearing the last time they met. I don't know how much of this I can track down (there seems to be all sorts of 'extras', 'specials', and OVAs), or whether the different sections will deserve separate pages, but so far this show brings a grin to my face.
