Let's say one isn't related to Bill Gates and can't simply pay a whole staff to get the job done.

What would the options be to get ones own ideas going? Write a lot of scripts, polish them up, add some illustrations and send them to every studio and production company you know of, hoping that one of them would contact you?

Movies, anime, etc are a fond hobby of mine, and I've been molding a few things in my mind for a while now. If I had unlimited funds, I guess I would just pay some top writers to turn my ideas into a proper script that would get a green light and full funding... demo -,-

What's a not-that-rich guys choice?

Tis hard, very hard to release your own anime episode!! But it has been done before....

Voices of a Distant Star
Fumiko's Confession
Kowarekake no Orgel

It might be easier and more successful to write/create your own manga series...

The thought once occured to me to select certain frames from raw anime episodes, add my own captions, and cut-and-paste them together into a sort of color comic book. Maybe this would be my own version of a show in which I liked the basic premise and visuals but was disappointed by the writing and dialogue (like Golgo 13 TV). Or a parody; or maybe parts of two different shows intermixed as a sort of joke. A sort of Doujinshi, you might say. No doubt working on projects like Kendo Girl Scrapbook played a part in this idea coming about. But so far it is still nothing but an idea.

Well, the vague idea is that this would be a sort of online comic book rather than actually being animated--because I'm guessing that that would take an astronomical amount of time and effort. It would be sort of like 'here's a manga-tised version of what I would have done with episode #?, since you guys managed to screw up what should have been a totally awesome show'. You might say it would be a sort of storyboard explaining how I would have edited the show if given the chance. 'If you can't make a decent animation, at least let me try to salvage a decent comic book'. Or something like that. I shouldn't talk too much, or somebody will say 'do it!' I'm more comfortable daydreaming.

This isn't the same thing as Musou Kakyou (series #2044), is it?

here are two more Touhou anime projects ....

Touhou Kinema Kan

Touhou - Bad Apple!! PV

While not very complicated in terms of animation, these titles are very sophisticated, detailed and creative.

And of course, it would not hurt if you somehow managed to take some animation classes to better understand some of the issues associated with creating animation.
