This episode noticeably has more skin on display compared to other episodes in DearS thanks to this being a hot springs episode, which this baby makes to its full advantage in getting as much nude shots as possible of the female cast. There's no relevant plot with this episode and is just as mindless a romp as other episodes of the series. You're not missing out on much here.

Having seen this episode, it was more ecchi than the rest of the series, but not as ecchi as something like Mahoromatic so I'm not sure why it never made it to TV in Japan. Still, by it being removed from the original DearS, the overall story did suffer a bit in my opinion and the importance "The Gift" (while not actually mentioned) is shown. Ren is certainly in tune with Takeya and I think those watching the R1 DVD's will get more of an impact when seeing all the episodes in order.

Also interesting was seeing just how much Neneko felt for Takeya with her dream. Again, this would have been neat to see as part of the whole series because while we knew that Neneko had some feeling for Takeya in DearS, this makes it very clear.

One thing was that bishounen bozo who always popped up in the original series and has his standard scene here to. Why he and his various "koneko's" (or whatever he called the girls he was hooking up with) had to be shown at all is a mystery to me. It never added to the story and was just annoying, almost as annoying as the sex-obsessed sensei.

Bottom line: another fun, if ecchi episode in the DearS series.

By far the weakest episode of the series. Fanservice galore, even ecchi now and then; SD everywhere; very little content. Yes the 'vomiting' lion was fun, the master/slave scene on TV might have been important for the storyline, and I did like the end of Neneko's dream scene. Everything else is below par for this series - most notably Ren is acting as thick as two short planks.

Well, I guess every series these days has gotta have some kind of hotspring or bathhouse episode, so here it is. It begins with Ruvi and Khi taking some sort of co-ed high-tech shower aboard the DearS ship, which, shall we say, gives a whole new meaning to the line "Touch and feel" from the theme song immediately afterwards! It quickly became clear that this was completely original stuff, not just an uncensored version of an episode I'd already seen. Both comedy and fanservice run wild, with practically every character in the series spending some time in the shower, or the tub, and frequently daydreaming while they are at it. Plenty of skin, and rear ends, but not so much as a nipple (so that's what the DearS long hair was meant for!). It sort of reminds me of the final episodes of Excel Saga or G-on Riders, two fairly naughty shows which let their writers go all-out for an episode. The difference is that this was listed as "Unaired episode 10", which I'm guessing meant it was supposed to have been inserted between the episodes which we know as 9 and 10. Clearly deleting this episode had little effect on the long term plot of DearS (though there is a scene where Ren uses the forbidden terms "slave" and "master" in front of a TV crew). The tragedy is that this was without doubt the funniest episode of the entire series. The characters of the teacher and Nia, which usually seemed absurd and out of place, seemed much more appropriate to this episode. I wouldn't be surprised if there was more humor in this single episode than in the rest of the series combined (I loved the scene of Miu washing her hair...). If only the entire series had been done as a risque comedy in this style! I wrote down so many hilarious lines that I'd like to use in my review, but I'll limit myself to just one:

"Neneko, look! There's a lion energetically vomiting in such a place! It looks like an old man who's drunk too much sake" --Miu
