Ace wo Nerae! (TV) Having watched the first eight episodes of this series, it does appear to be very dated, but it does tell an interesting sports-based story about the struggles of Oka as she finds her confidence and ability to make a mark on her high schools tennis team. While I might think that Prince of Tennis tells a better tennis story , “Aim for the Ace” still spins a very charming and inspiring tale with a strong female lead character having to overcome a number of personal and petty (or vindictive) challenges. While I will not rate this a “buy”, I will admit that I feel that I did not waste my time watching this very dated and (perhaps) simplistic sports anime series. Last updated Monday, June 13 2005.
