Originally licensed by Manga Entertainment, who just sat on this title for a decade.... Then in August 2010, ANN is reporting that Sentai Filmworks has picked up this title (probably for a song) and that they probably will be releasing this releasing it in a subtitled format. Ghost Sweeper Mikami is a early Japanese animation title, that has the look of a very old series, (fifteen plus years and it shows,). Based on an older manga story, it comes across as being very simplistic in its anime style and story line. To be honest, it kinda reminds me of those (nasty) ↗Hanna Barbara cartoon series, but Japanese anime can never be as bad as the worst American cartoons! The main character Mikami is very impressive in her skills, and with the assistance of her perverted looser side kick, Tadao, (who is much abused by Mikami!!), this series comes across as being (at best) very lame. I would call it being very cliché and dated! In any case, if you are a serious anime-fan, then this is well worth a watch, if only to take a peek at some of the older series that are at the roots that drive the current Japanese anime-trend. Well, I will (reluctantly) admit some measure of enjoyment at watching this title, but not enough to want to watch it again, much less spend a small bucket of quarters buying it.
