Mikuri Tomokazu finds himself lost in a devastated world where he encounters a girl with fantastic abilities fighting off a strange alien foe. And with his help, she is able to destroy the enemy. And then he wakes up from his dream, and finds the girl is a sleep in his bed beside him. While Mone, the girl of his dreams and bed, has no memories of her past, her appearance has opened a door between realities which has Mone, Tomo and his close friends fighting to save their world.

(All episodes watched):

While to a certain extent this is nothing but another harem series about a boy who has the good luck to find strange but hot girls in bed with him, girls who feel obliged to marry him, accidentally groping them, etc, etc, there is a bit of a story here about the 'dream world' known as Moera. I was a bit surprised to learn that this anime is based on a video game, since those don't tend to have sophisticated plots, but I guess the plot of a video game would still be more sophisticated than that of the typical harem anime. The characters are likable; while he doesn't claim to be perfect, Mikuri isn't a total pervert, and the girls aren't totally submissive to his male wishes. They wonder what's going on in Moera, just like we do, and make a credible effort to figure the answer out (though after awhile they seem to give that up and just consider it nothing more than a game). Once things get serious Mikuri risks his life like the others rather than being a blank character who only exists so that viewers can imagine themselves in his place. There are a number of jokes based on other series which only a fan of circa 2004 anime will fully get, but which are amusing nevertheless. And the jokes in general are fairly funny. So, whereas I would often quit a typical new harem anime before the first episode was finished, I found Yumeria to be amusing and worth watching. In episode seven we learn that this is not all nothing but a joke, however. The consequences of losing the fight against 'Faydoom' would be disastrous, to put it mildly, though I didn't completely understand why. One unanswered question since episode one has been, who is Mone? Why is she a harem member who, unlike all the others, Mikuri had never met previously? I didn't completely get the bit in the final episode where it seems that the battle is won, then suddenly it isn't. I enjoyed Yumeria most early on, then became fairly confused and impatient in the second half.

Watch 8 8 8 6 8 7 Dreamer [series:898#2279]
The synopsis seemed interesting. But it wasn't as interesting as I had hoped.

Art, Animation and Character Design
The art seemed above average and with rich, vibrant colors. The animation wasn't bad either. As for character designs, they were actually refreshingly different. I mean, they weren't radically different by any stretch of the imagination, but small things like the thicker eyebrows, or the slightly thicker black outline around the eyes, or the lighter shades of shadows in the artwork.

Music
Okay, the OP wasn't "annoying", but it was really.... annoying. The voice was super high-pitched and too "happy". Don't get me wrong, I'm no dark, brooding, moody type of guy. Just hearing the same "type" of OPs is annoying. Sorry, I think I just went off a bit. Anyhow, to say the least, it wasn't that great. The music throughout the rest of the anime wasn't anything of interest but at least it wasn't annoying.

Series and Episode Story
There was a few laughs here and there and some ecchi moments.... not a lot. The plot itself wasn't really anything of interest. Actually, it doesn't take off until about mid-way through the series and even then, the plot was barely interesting. There was a gripe I had. After a while, the whole "mone" line said by.... erm, "Mone" got annoying. What I didn't like about it was how everyone could understand what she was saying, yet our protagonist (Tomokazu), couldn't. For some reason, that bugged the crap out of me. As well, I didn't particularly cared for the whole cheesy power ranger-like transformations. However, the whole concept of a dangerous dream world was an interesting plot.... if it was done better.

Overall, it narrowly held my interest. The concept was good, but the story telling part didn't live up to it.

Drama : Low
Comedy : Med
Action : Low/Med
SciFi : Med/High
Ecchi : Low/Med

Ok I watched all of this.

Honestly, it has a nice OP, and the drawings are very cute.

But that's about it. It's got a little plot that when it finally reveals (In the 3rd disk) was very lame. This would've done better has a hentai IMHO. It was interesting to watch up to episode 8 but afterwards, it was crap.

So I'll leave it a watch, it made me laugh but that's about it.
