WHAT THE HECK DID THEY DO TO MY KURUMI? Waaaaa.

From the OP I was like WTF, this isn't Kurumi. That's some funky OP. I do like the new Karinka look except she hasn't shown up yet in the Anime. And add Einstein the data dog from Cowboy Bebop. Hehe he is a data dog too...sorta.

Take Kurumi, take out Nakahito, add in a girl Nako, take out Kamahito, put in another GIRL Uruka, and then add major Lesbian overtones (Outside of Saki who isn't chasing Kurumi in this one). There is a total of 2 guys total, and I'm like 'this isn't my Kurumi'.

Owells, it was ok, the series got much more interesting after Karinka showed up but damn there is no character development at all here. Honestly it felt like I was watching some Fancomic done as an anime. Take Kurumi, add lesbians, take out romance, introduce a new evil group that just vanishes during one episode, and you have this.

Edit : I just realized why this is so familiar. This is Steel Angel Kurumi crossed with Project A-Ko. Now I know why I was like this looks so redone.

Buy Stretch [series:791#628]
It was a bit disconcerting to see the sticker on the DVD case which read "Remove the acetate cover for a SEXY Steel Angel surprise!" (the illustrations of Kurumi and Nako are stripped to their 'undies, like paper dolls). I guess that makes me a member of the prestigious "Robot Maid Panty Fetish Otaku Genre" (or RMPFOG, for short, all rights reserved), because I have somehow found myself addicted to the various incarnations of Steel Angel Kurumi. But not, I swear, for the abundant fanservice (I've seen so much of that that I hardly notice anymore when characters appear naked), but rather because these shows have a certain charm and silliness to them even if you have become jaded and indifferent to fanservice. The modern techno-pop spin on the theme song initially displeased me--I'd rather they had either left it alone or written something completely new--but no big deal, in fact I think it has grown on me with time. I got uncomfortable during the opening episode as it took awhile for anything particularly funny to happen, but eventually it did, including Kurumi's trademark SD sequences. Likewise, during episode three I began wondering if the quality of this sequel would be anywhere near that of the original series, until something happened that was so outlandish that it just had me saying to myself "what the f---?". I worry too much--this show is hilarious! You just cannot lose while watching it, unless you are offended by fanservice or lesbian implications (but come on! Those are half the fun!). This series is far less serious than the original--no threat to the world here, just a case of jealousy and rivalry among teenage girls (and robots). To my relief there is in fact a respectable plotline within the series, which comes to a pleasing end. Also, I can't emphasize enough how convenient I find it to have an anime series which I can view whenever I have less than half an hour at hand. As I rewatch it a second time, I'm upgrading it from "Rent" to "Buy" (that's what I've done).

My favorite line: "Once the manual's found, Kurumi can go suck it" --Uruka

A nicely done remix of the intro song of the first season gave me hope, but I quickly saw that Kurumi was just as childish as the first season, and worse than that, every relationship in the entire show is lesbian. And not the good kind that turns guys on....it was somehow just wierd. There was a fair bit of nudity, and the action was pretty decent. And, like the original, decent comedy as well.
