I am reviewing the first twelve episodes of the ADV-dub DVD release. I have the first three DVDs, with four episodes per DVD, (which surprised me a bit.) Well, gone is the dark story that was present in the first season, which distinguished this series from many others (sigh). At least Orphen has not lost his sarcastic tongue and biting wit
This season is all comedy, whimsy and romance, as Orphen and Cleo argue, bicker and flirt incessantly through a series of outrageous situations. Majic picks up a female admirer, Eris, who is also who proves herself to be very jealous of Majics other female friends. Eris is also doubles as the sidekick of the superhero(?) the Shrimpman, and rides a walrus. Vulcan proves himself to even more of an egomaniac, as he and Dortin are continuously under foot as they thieve and bumble their way through the story line.
There is some darkness with The Tower of Fang not being done with Orphen yet, as a revengeful sorcerer challenges Orphen, while other tower sorcerers attempt to protect and help him.
And the outtakes (which appear in the extras section) appears to intentionally staged to scandalize the viewer with their course and unpublishable language.
With very little fan service or other objectionable content, this series appears to be primed for broadcast TV. It is a fun series with laughs, but not as enjoyable as the first season.
I will offer a more complete review with I have been able to review the entire series.
