The new Yuri and Kei continue their adventures as the legendary team known as Lovely Angels. This time they are given the unglamorous assignment of being the bodyguards for a gifted programmer named Touma. The main computer on the 20th Century Earth theme park planet (World's World) has been infected with a powerful virus and since Touma created the system, he is the natural choice to fix the problem. Unfortunately, things are more complicated as someone is out to kill Touma. Further complicating matters are ghosts, con artists, a local florist, and an AI computer program. Will Yuri and Kei be able to protect Touma? Will Touma find the woman of his dreams? Will you care when this DVD is over?

Like the first OVA, this second offering of Dirty Pair Flash has some continuity in episodes involving Yuri and Kei protecting a computer programmer of a theme park planet. The first and fifth episodes involve the plot for this OVA, though it is never revealed who was out for Toma's life. Episodes 2-4 are more episodic filler with two episodes not involving any kind of crime case for the Lovely Angels to tackle. Regardless, the humor still falls flat for the most part with this OVA, save for a few moments such as reveals in a couple filler episodes that are unexpected. Beyond that, this baby is as flat as the first OVA series for Flash.

Around a year ago I watched the Mission 1 OVAs, but wasn't particularly impressed with them and didn't write a review. I recall having a hard time maintaining attention. Thus, I wasn't expecting the Mission 2 episodes to be particularly outstanding, but when I managed to pick them up as VHS tapes in brand-new condition for a mere 99 cents each, I figured "what the hell". The quality of the first episode was about what I was expecting--not too impressive. But I was pleasantly surprised by the silly, fun "filler" episodes, especially numbers 2 and 4. Certain aspects of episode two, in which Kei and Yuri are put to work tracking down ghosts, reminded me of Haunted Junction (the number 7, ghosts hiding in mirrors and bathroom stalls, etc.). Episode four, in which Touma has developed a crush for flower shop girl Leena was fun. The shy, computer-geek in love story was charming (and the bizarre twist at the end was good too). Episode five marked a return to wild action and explosions, but like number one I found it to be so-so. Is it just a coincidence, or is the Dirty Pair--sorry, "Lovely Angels"--best put to use in these not particularly violent filler episodes? Oh, yeah, I liked the theme songs too--the ED song was cute (I'm going to record it on the tape I play while driving). All things considered, I think I got my money's worth!

This OAV brings you two episodes concerning the series story and three wonderful filler episodes. The first episode brings you the story of World's World computer system being infected and the attempts to kill Touma. When the episode ends, we don't know who was behind the plot, only a theory. However, because the first episode ends with a two-week quarantine on the planet, this gives Yuri and Kei plenty of time to have some other adventures on the planet.

The ghost story and the con artist story were pretty boring. However, I did enjoy the flower shop girl story. And then the series shifts back to the main story with a, "Oh yeah. This is what infected the system." Unfortunately, we still don't know who was behind all of this and we really don't know why either. Hmmmm, why do I feel like I wasted 2.5 hours of my life not counting the time it took to get the screencapture and write this review? On the plus side, Yuri didn't get on my nerves like she did in the first OAV.

Bottom line: It is not so bad as to be an "avoid", but it really isn't quite good enough to give it a "rent" either (though I did rent it to see it). The Japanese should have stuck with the original series and left this remake stuff.
