This movie I just bought and I have watched it 5 times so far. For some reason Adult Swim isn'T having the new episodes on Saturday. But maybe they are taking a break but thats OK so I went and bought movie 3. I like this one too along with movie 1 and movie 2. Kikyo or Coga aren't in this one and they give a little background story on Inuyashas father and Inuyashas mom. So you see his father with human instincts not as a demon as most of the series has portrayed. Inuyashas brother and him pit their forces together to kill the demon who killed their father. Kogome saves Rens life and they end up together in the same place. So even Shoshomeru says he doesn't like humans there is just a soft spot there that he reveals for Ren just a little one. But I think the theme is good and another winner to watch.

The Inuyasha movies have been fun because they have one thing in common -- they are done for the fans of the manga and TV series. So things that fans have wanted to see in the anime or manga. This movies continues that tradition. I was uncertain at how the writers would introduce Souunga since canon materials only have Tessaiga and Tenseiga as the swords of their father. But they pull it off nicely while avoiding certain tricky complications. Seeing Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru's father has been a desire of fans. How did he die? How was Inuyasha born? How did he fall in love with Inuyasha's mother? The first two are answered and the final question will wait for another day. Exploring both sons feelings for their father was interesting, even if it was only done in a mild way. The writers did this while keeping the characters true to form. Therein lies the greatest success of the movie -- the writing. While giving fans what they wanted, they succeeded in telling an interesting story AND kept the characters true to form. Very nice job. The art and animation are good as usual. The character designs are the standard ones for the movies. However, I suppose that keeps the movies and the anime from looking the same. Bottom line: another good movie in the Inuyasha franchise.Last updated Monday, November 01 2004. Created Thursday, October 30 2003. | ||||||||
