I was pleasantly surprised picking up this anime. I had no idea that this was darn near a hentai. However, there's actually a bit of meat (no pun intended) to this series as opposed to what you might find in a hentai. One thing I'd like to point out is that one of the keywords is grossly inaccurate. This is NOT a "Coming of Age". In fact, our actors/actresses are all adults and well developed. So, I took the liberty of removing this keyword. Art, Animation and Character Designs Character designs were nothing special. In fact, I could almost say they were below par. As for the art and animation, nothing special there either. During some of the more "erotic" scenes, there were a little more details put into "some" of the characters..... especially those of the "female" persuasion. Then again, other times, the art would suffer a bit. Music Music is not even noticable. However, during some of the more "dirty" scenes, you would get your stereotypical cheesy "porn-music"..... like that from the "fun" 80's or even 70's. Actually it was amusing to say the least. Series and Episode Stories Wow, this is a well done sex education! Okay, so I'm joking.... sorta. As for story, there's really nothing here to tell. The synopsis above should be enough to explain what's going on, so with that said, I'd like to ad to it by saying that you'll also experience... or rather see how a newlywed's sexual experiences play out. And to think that I didn't know there were adults who "didn't" know about sex.... wow. In episode 2, it really got interesting.... hehehe. Amazing what you can do with bananas.... oh, I shouldn't say anymore. In all honesty, this series isn't about sex or what goes on in the bedroom, but rather, it's a innocent story about a couple who are still getting to know each other and their newly discovered experiences. Overall, it's simply "enjoyable" to watch but don't expect any sort of a real story. Futari Ecchi is an Adult ecchi comedy about people who really love each other. During the course of the series, they are learning to accept each other for the good and bad about themselves. Yes, there is some ecchiness in the 4 OVA's like the title suggests. However, very few animes have ever captured what it is really like to be married in the way that it has done. Off the top of my head, probably only Onegai Teacher did as good of job as Futari Ecchi in portraying the awkwardness of two people coming together in marriage for what ever reason in Anime during the last couple of years. It may not be a title for all anime lovers, but I would recommend it for someone wanting a Kawaii romantic comedy that you can feel good about after you watch it. Just be sure to watch with someone you love by your side.

Imagine if someone tried to create an animation of a Tenchi-like guy getting married to a princess-like girl, well someone did. With a focus on the awkwardness of a new couple learning about each other, it tries to be henti, but only comes out as an extremely simple ecchi domestic story. It might work one were to think of this as a "how to be married" anime for a new married couple who have never kissed and are learning about sex and sex play.
