Kazuya's small apartment is filled with guest this winter morning. In addition to the cyberdolls May and Kei who live with him, cyberdoll Sara, Nanbara, the president of Cyberdyne (and Nanbara's decendant) have popped in for a visit. Then Kasumi and cyberdoll Lena (Rena) also stop by for breakfast. It is a home full of mahem which soon clears out leaving May to do the housework. A package from cyberdoll Mami provides May with five chibi-cyberdoll May's. An accident causes May's personallity to go into the five mini-May's while knocking the original out. Meanwhile Rena finds a lost human child and brings it home. Will the original May wake up? Will Nanbara steal a kiss from her? What will happen with the child? Can cyberdolls have children of their own?

I got this special episode as an integral part of a box set of the entire HMM story on two DVDs. This is an amusing episode, even though it doesn't really expand on the plot of the TV series. Has May somehow had her memories restored, or has living with the same people in the same environment just led to her developing a personality virtually identical to the original one? Maybe that was the idea, to reassure loyal viewers that all has worked out fine for the reinitialized May. I was hoping that maybe something would come of Kasumi's wondering if Kazuya's descendant might be her descendant as well, but that's about as far as it went. Apparently the competition between Kasumi and May for Kazuya's attention will go on. Finally, Nanbara and Commando Z should have a series of their own!

My favorite line: "You can't shake your hips for s---!" --Nanbara

As I understand it, the only reason this episode was created was because the Japanese cast wanted to do another episode after the original 10 completed. Thus we get episode 11/10 of the series as an OAV sequel. Fortunately it works very well.

The amazing thing was how they managed to work in the chibi-May's logically. So the five chibi-May's get a generous amount of screen time and regular May gets the rest. It's about 50/50. All of the characters we grew to love in the original Hand Maid May are all back. Nanbara and his desendant, the president of Cyberdyne, are still fighting. Sara is still putting up with Nanbara. Kei still has trouble getting out of her space without showing off her panties. Kasumi still is in love with Kazuya but has yet to confess her love. Rena is still a fun but spoiled kid-bot. Mami is still taking care of her master, the cyberdoll designer. And Kazuya is just happy I guess.

While there were many great things, like the chibi "Black May" (part of the Power Rangers parody) beating the crap out of Nanbara, there were a couple of problems. First, the initial story around the original May's collaps and offline state doesn't really seem to bother Kazuya. What? Granted the writers needed an excuse to keep the chibi-May onscreen for a while, but I thought that could have been handled better. Then once May is restored, the chibi-May's disappear. I guess they got put back into the box. Kasumi's friend was a tad annoying as well. However, these are just minor complaints.

Bottom line: if you liked the original 10 episodes, you are going to LOVE the 11th episode.
