Did you ever want to see a movie with a traumatic atmosphere, psychedelic music, marvellous but disturbing pictures, lots of silence and nearly no action or dialogue at all ... but wait - don't think this one is boring, you'll miss out an experience that you won't forget for quite some time!

This is an early work of Mamoru Oshii whom you might know from Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh or Urusei Yatsura.

After 40 days, God decided to end the rain and allow Noah's Ark to land at the Ararat mountain - so tells us Genesis 8:4.
So what if God hadn't been that merciful, but rather of the "shin-ma" type that is known from animes like Kyuuketsuki Miyu (TV)? What if the dove didn't find someplace to land, but died instead of returning?

There is no need to write anything about what is actually happening in this phantastic movie.
Even more than Evangelion or Serial Experiments Lain this film will require you to take a lot of time to think about what you have just seen - and this is about the only element of the film, besides the awesome pictures and music (you might possibly compare its effect to "Koyaanisqatsi" or the closing section of "2001" in a way).
So if you look for any kind of 'action', you are dead wrong here. But if your mind is open and you are willing to embrace the unexpected, then ... try this one.
