'Lost Ones' are people who have been transported from Japan to the Kingdom of Grisarika. Each has some sort of magical ability, known as a 'Pure Concept'. But these powers can be problematic, and the 'pure, just and strong' Priestess Menou (shown at right) serves as an 'Executioner' to deal with them. Though she does not blame them for their powers, she mercilessly and professionally kills them whenever possible. But one of these people is different.

(Ten episodes watched):

It would be easy to jump to the conclusion while watching episode one that this show was going to be a generic isekai series about Mitsuki Mutou, a Japanese boy who is transported to Grisarika. But Mutou does not last long and what had seemed a flippant anime takes on a grim and unusual tone. But it also seemed to flip back and be pretty generic afterwards, with Menou in a 'Though I only have a knife I can easily defeat five soldiers with swords' scene, which frustrated me. I wish just for once we would have a protagonist who isn't absolutely confident that he/she can win any fight easily, i.e, a realistic one. Anyway, this show still seems fairly unusual and left me curious where it would go. It seems to be about an effort to reverse the flow of teenagers to an isekai world, after all. I'm guessing that Menou will find that a girl who also transported along with Mutou should be spared because she would make an excellent fellow Executioner. I took a good deal of notes about who's who and what Menou's background is and how the caste system in this land is organized. The VAs playing Menou and this special girl both seem to be newcomers.

This show seemed worth taking notes about and compiling reviews of individual episodes, which I did, for a time (see above). But the excitement wore off, and I became increasingly confused and dismayed with the direction the plot was going. It became tiresome and difficult to take seriously, and seemed to be wandering aimlessly away from the basic conflict (will Mutou have to kill Akari, and can she?). In the end, I started watching episode eleven but quickly got the feeling that I had lost track of what was going on, and didn't think it would be worth the effort to get my bearings again. Akari, who had once been so naive and even scatterbrained, has somehow transformed into a savy, calculating person who knows better than anyone what is really happening, since she has presumably seen countless resets. But I liked her the way she was. After a couple of minutes I said to myself "I don't want to watch this!" and switched to something else.
