Misato Kurihara was once a star high school student who had a reputation as being aloof and as a result had no real friends. After she was killed in an accident and was offered a chance to be reincarnated in a fantasy world, she accepted--on the condition that her abilities would be perfectly average this time around. Now known as 'Mile' (AKA Adele Von Ascham), she has however found that the gap between the least and most capable beings in her new world is so wide that humans rank relatively low, and as a result she is once again an extraordinary person.

(One episode watched):

Well, the gimmick to this Isekai series is that a girl who wanted to be ordinary is actually an amazing magician. So, basically she finds herself in pretty much the same situation as countless persons who have been transported to alternate worlds--either through being entrapped in a video game, summoned to serve as a 'hero', or by being reincarnated--in the sense that she has an extraordinary ability which sets her apart. The only difference is that she didn't want to be special, but it would seem that she has already accepted her fate and has no serious plans to undo or hide her talents. Her predicament is nothing more than a joke, not a serious problem which she would struggle to solve. It made me wonder, has there ever been a series in the Isekai genre in which the protagonist really was ordinary? Perhaps Hai to Gensou no Grimgar --which, perhaps not by coincidence, was one of the best. This show, on the other hand, while not offensive or terrible, struck me as very average and predictable. The moment Mile tells herself that she will surely never run into the three colorful girls she has met again is the moment that you know that she soon will. Nothing about this anime struck me as particularly funny, unusual or intriguing. The problem Mile encounters and solves was pretty simple and uninteresting. The goofy tone led me to believe that little effort would be made to expand on the characters' personalities. It didn't take long before I reached the conclusion that there was no point in watching this series in it's entirety. For all intents and purposes, I have already seen it.
