In Another World with my Smartphone is another anime attempting to ride off the popularity of isekai titles having its teenage male lead reincarnated into another world where is quite overpowered with his magical capabilities and conveniently having several female companions romantically interested in hooking up with him in a harem. The lack of storyline tensions and character depth within this series is telling of it being a sort of wish fulfillment fantasy for those viewing it. In other words, I'm rather underwhelmed with seeing this and don't think I'm tempted in wanting to see its upcoming second season recently announced.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:3386#628]
(Three episodes watched):

I wasn't expecting much of this show, but I kept watching episode one and found that it was modestly amusing and I was enjoying the story as well. Maybe that was because it was offbeat and kept moving forward at a brisk pace. We've gotten to know Touya fairly well; he's a laid-back guy who doesn't take getting killed personally. The two girls he meets are likeable as well. Or perhaps I liked the fact that an attempt is made to explain the rules behind how magic operates in this world rather than just flinging it out there and expecting us to be thrilled by it. The OP sequence suggests this will be a harem anime. I don't know if it will remain fun, but the show had passed its first test. It has a fluffy, light, silly tone to it, almost like a children's book. At first I didn't mind since it was amusing and the story moves forward at a fast clip. The plot is simple but the humor and optimism are infectious. It is not brilliant but demands little from the watcher and in exchange delivers a smile and a laugh. But ultimately the lack of an engaging plot convinced me to quit watching.
