In a literal case of breaking the fourth wall, Broken Down Film depicts our cowboy hero not only having to deal with a bandit when saving a damsel in distress, but also the old age of the film he stars in screwing up the conditions of the various scenes that play out in his ordeal. The struggle is quite funny as the cowboy literally interacts with the film strip to align it as he wants when it turns against him and the animation to the short does a great job in emphasizing the smudging and wear that the film undergoes as the cowboy tries to play out the classic western he stars in properly. This is a fun, quick romp for any animation fan to look into.
