Here's a show which I had been looking forward to for some time, since the original SnI had been great fun, yet this one almost slipped past me unnoticed, probably because it apparently didn't originate as a conventional TV series. I was afraid that this sequel might not have the same wit as the original series, because maybe it hadn't been made by the same team, but so far, so good. Episode '0' is a sort of prequel to the original series which explains how Ken acquired his interest in harems. The show sometimes breaks down the fourth wall, such as when the characters discuss what the title of this sequel series should be. Those who enjoy this sort of show might also find Joshiraku to be amusing.

Episode three--I mean two--involves Council President Sakurano's merciless investigation into who ate a piece of cake that she had been given. Amnesia plays a part. Sometimes the much-talking format kind of mentally tires me out (I must constantly pause the show to read subtitles), and I only watch half an episode at a time (partly to stretch the enjoyment out over a greater period of time, also). This one remained engaging throughout. It's mainly what the characters say, rather than things they do (visual jokes) which are funny.

SnI is about the only anime I know of which makes fun of the concept of the harem. Most shows use it as a form of cheap wishful thinking to attract male viewers, but SnI doesn't have to fool with stunts like that since it is a chock-full of genuine quality. For instance, the ED sequence of episode six which depicts the five cast members as different sorts of insect (seriously). Some people will find this show tiring; a good quality dub would be a Godsend. Still, this is a quality show which I enjoyed.
