Art, Animation & Character Designs Artwork was basically the same as the first season. Rather repeating myself here, please see my review on the previous season here Music The OP was a light rock piece with female vocals. It has a hint of japanese instruments (flutes?) at the start of it which makes it's sound pretty nice. The soundtrack had nice pianos and violins, much like it did in the first season. Nice. the ED was a chilled melody with female vocals. Nice but sounded like something that would easily put you to sleep. Series and Episode Story We continue exactly where the first season leaves off. In fact, our episode count starts at 13 (where 12 was the last episode of the 1st season) and goes to 22. The plot continues into deeper territory (Japan) as war begins to take hold between the old and new governments. It's during this that we get to learn the fate of the rest of our Shinsengumi group. The plot progresses to conclusion in this season so I doubt we'll get another one. Pretty much everyone (spoiler)→ gets killed off (sadly). But in terms of the development of the plot, it works for the better. But one thing is for sure, this is definitely a (spoiler)→ tragedy! Overall, this was enjoyable but somehow left me a bit bummed with the outcome. Do watch for sure but make sure to first watch the first season. Otherwise, you'll get a bit lost here. We continue our story telling from the first season. This one was good but didn't quite capture the feel as the first one did. Still....||||||||
