This show started out with a fairly cool scene of esper combat; the animation was pretty neat for a mid-eighties show. The way the various fighters could bend and break physical matter using just their minds was interesting. Astalis, who had once vowed to kill Justy, is now his ditsy adopted little sister. She seems to have experienced some sort of memory loss; how exactly this came about isn't explained, but her being turned against him was intriguing. The plot as a whole was pretty simplistic, however. Why did Justy give in to the hijackers' demands? Was he so self-confident that he figured that whatever they were up to, he could easily beat them? I was hoping for some explanation at the end of how he had outwitted them, but it never came. Instead we get the pretty standard progression where it seems briefly that the bad guys' plan has worked, then it turns out that Justy isn't dead after all, and he wipes the floor with them. Or maybe I should say that they'd have been lucky if he had only wiped the floor with them. The only real question was what would become of Astalis. There was some interesting artwork, animation and freaky psychic combat, so the show was worth a watch.
