DEVIL HUNTER YOHKO was one of the first series I ever bought back in my earlier days of anime collecting. Now, about 5 years later, I know there are far more entertaining series and a lot better crafted tales, but I still find DEVIL HUNTER YOHKO to be just plain fun.
Kind of like an ecchi and violent SAILORMOON, the adventures of Yohko as she battles demons and pines for boys is very amusing so long as you dont expect a deeper plot beyond goofy action. DEVIL HUNTER YOHKO operated under the magical girl genre which makes most of the events in the series not all that original. Still this title does manage to pull a few tricks out from under its sleeve with some witty dialogue and the sheer humor of the less than wholesome heroine.
Not masterpiece theater, but I get some genuine laughs from it so you might want to check it out if youre looking for something a little fun and not all that brain racking.

I tell my friends this is like the anime version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I thought this short series was a lot of fun, although I agree with those who said there was too much gratuitous nudity. What saves it for me are the characters—Yohko, Azusa, and Madoka (Yohko's grandmother) especially. The 6 episodes vary widely in story quality; I liked the last two best.

The animation in it was good to say but it does have a lot of nudity that other wise could have been avoided. But to say other than the nudity it had great animation. The story line was good. It flowed smoothly and was easy to understand. It's kind of like a story with a kidish plot but lots of nudity. The characters were beutifuly designed though. It was well thought out and with cool action.
So if you like lots of nudity and still have room for action than you might want to at least rent this.

This fun series is not for kids, but it's good for anime fans to look at. With gratuitous nudity, adult oriented humor, heavy bits of violence and more blood than you can shake a stick at, the story is decent and a moderate success. Character designs are nice, so is the lightheartedness the series looks at itself at.

Devil Hunter Yohko is a cheesy, fun series. It contains plenty of gratuitous nudity, adult humor, a good dose of violence, and buckets of blood. However, the character designs are beautiful, especially Yohko, and the story is adequate, and occasionally, quite engaging. Unfortunately the animation is nothing that stands out.
What's great about Yohko, though, is that the series never quite takes itself seriously, often poking fun at the cliched nature of itself. The often whip-smart humor might be lost on casual
anime fans, but experienced fans will find plenty to laugh at. If one is in the mood for some light entertainment and isn't offended by comically over-the-top nudity and violence, this series is worth a look.
