(One episode watched): This (sort of) preview episode of the upcoming second season of MoHS was startling in the sense that it reminded me of just what excellence an anime series can attain if it places a higher priority on quality than quantity. The averageness of the vast majority of the shows I watch had lulled me into expecting relatively little from them, then suddenly an example of just what is really possible came along and almost blew my mind. The sarcastic dialogue and clever time-travelling plot were great fun and reminded me that shows really do exist which I wish would extend beyond 23 minutes. If the remaining episodes of MoHS2 are this good, it will have been more than worth the wait. My favorite line: "Sleep. And only sleep" --Nagato Last updated Sunday, June 07 2009. Woo! Suzumiya Haruhi is back with a bang. We get some really cool time traveling action with Mikuru and Yuki. Seems like this continues with the light novel series, and since I have read it, I shall only say that things are about to turn very very interesting. After weeks for waiting, episode 2 is finally out in subs, with raw versions up to episode 5. Episode 2 is about Haruhi packing up the last 2 weeks of summer holidays with loads of activities, Haruhi style. They go swimming, yukuta shopping, o-bon festival, fireworks, bug catching etc etc. I kept looking for CERTAIN hints that never came. Before i know it the holidays ended with kyon going to sleep on the 31st August a few minutes before midnight. Nothing much happened. Or so it would seem. Well, since i know the story, i'll let on that the next episode will come back and blow you away. Episode 3. Awesome. Totally awesome. But... it has not ended yet huh... endless eight. watching now... 4 eps watched... Ep 4: I think three eps of the same thing is kind of pushing it, don't you think? The same summer ep occurs again with Kyon getting a little closer to stopping Haruhi. There were only some slight changes in the dialogue. If something is going to break this cycle, it better happen in the next ep... Ep 3: WOW! Once again, I've been intrigued. Don't panic, this ep starts out (and is 85%) the same way ep 2 did. I thought there was something wrong, but just keep watching and you'll notice the slight differences. The ep repeats the events in ep 2, but it becomes clear that there are some extreme cases of deva ju. Let's just say that Haruhi isn't finished with her summer vacation just yet. The number 15,498 was a shocker all by itself!!! Kyon is in for another trans-dimensional adventure it seems. This title is insanity incarnate... Ep 2: Great stuff! The gang all goes out to enjoy their summer vacation with Haruhi hosting the events. They caught bugs, dressed up for the festival, got a job, went swimming, did some star-gazing, and just enjoyed being kids. Rare to her nature, Haruhi didn't make them do anything absurd like trying to summon a guide to enter the minds of some far away alien race or something of that nature. It was a fun ep and Kyon, with his ever so funny soliloquies, had me smiling and giggling the entire time. These characters have such a fantastic chemistry together, even if its just Haruhi with enough spirit for all of them combined, that a simple ep like this came out perfect where as if another title were to try this, it would be considered a very boring stall ep. As such is the power of Haruhi Suzumiya in case you didn't know. By the end, I had only one thought enter my mind, "Haruhi is still a crazy a** bit**" Initial feelings: This series is rumor central!!! A couple of ANN news articles (1 and 2) have officially confused the living daylights out of me. Long story short, a new Haruhi episode is out and it isn't animated. Rather, it's a live-action ep from light novel 3. All of this Haruhi madness has reached its limit with me and I don't think any respectable company/business/org We were told that a new ep was released, correct? It wasn't animated, but rather a live-action. The ep was the most retarded thing in history with a video recording (in the pitch-black of night) of two people, If I had to guess - I'd say Haruhi and Kyon, working on something. It's a full ep (~24 min) and nothing happens at all. After much painful reading and digging, I found an animated ep that was also released and this ep was more like it. First Impression: Haruhi is back (or just filling in the some holes from last season)! Kyon still has his "critically acclaimed" soliloquies and they're still as funny as they were before. The rest of the gang is there and nothing has changed (except for the fact that I saw the original series in English dub, so reverting back to sub was tough for me). Mikuru takes Kyon back three years as per her mission and he meets the adult form of Mikuru again as well as discovering many things about the robot, Haruhi, and himself. What Haruhi had Kyon doing looked like what the live-action ep was about. An interesting episode that only Haruhi could present and still justifies the perfect series score... Who is to say that more twisted confusion isn't already on the way regarding what is going to become of this title now. Hence, I just don't care anymore. I feel like the only way to deal with this title (as far as the twisted rumors go) is to just wait it out. If they continue more eps, then fine. If not and this series really is cancelled, then so be it (too bad for them). They can pretend to please us by filling in all the gaps if they want. It just doesn't matter anymore...
