Spurned by the villagers because of their strange powers, Yonna and her older brother Stan are now living alone in an isolated and abandoned castle. But their special abilities have not escaped the notice of the government. While a small and winged Piggott attempts to sweet-talk Stan into accepting an offer to leave the security of their home to serve the Empire in the capital, another government agent arrives with instructions to approach Yonna and make a special appeal to her. But Stan despises any intruders and is very protective his younger sister. Having made his name with the computer generated special effects of Final Fantasy – The Movie, Kengo Takeuchi has turned his skills to this 30 minute long movie. His special techniques in character design and facial expressions make this story distinctive and unique. Hanare Toride no Yonna (Watch-/ Avoid+) Nice to see visually with its fully CG animation yet lacking enough time to tell a fleshed-out story, Yonna in the Solitary Fortress rushes through its storytelling focused on two different government agents tasked with retrieving Yonna, a young girl ostracized from society due to her ability to use magic. While the premise has its potential for a movie-length film or short OVA series, 30 minutes is too little time to provide proper fleshing out and development of its world and characters. Beyond the eye-candy from its appealing CG visuals, Yonna is otherwise a rather forgettable film with wasted potential due to its limited run time. Last updated Monday, February 18 2019. Hanare Toride no Yonna Wow .. I am going to give this series a <RENT++> rating primarily because while it is well worth a watch or two, but I don’t really know if I would want to see it again in six or twelve months from now. But it is very special and unique – so, I can only share that if you are following or interested in purely computer generated anime series, then this is a pretty amazing and interesting 30-minute story. I have posted some pictures, but I (intentionally) did not post a story summary. This one episode story is so short, that I did not want to spoil any of your enjoyment in watching this!!
