I have to honestly admit that I felt rather indifferent with seeing Strawberry Panic throughout my watch of it and there's not really much I have to say about it. The series plays out as a typical yuri romance drama that dabbles into melodramatic trappings and the typical cliched characters you can expect of high school anime titles, thus it doesn't have anything that sticks out with it too strongly like Marimite being a homage to the early 20th century Class S genre of Japanese literature or the sexually-charged symbolism found in the Utena movie. The series prominently focuses on the relationship developments of Nagisa/ Shizuma and Hikari/ Amane. The former gets a reasonable amount of fleshing out and a hurdle to the relationship that makes it somewhat engaging to see how things develop, while the latter is rather bland due to a lack of fleshing out and has some pretty ridiculous hurdles thanks to the title's dabbling into melodrama. While this would be a decent treat for fans of the yuri genre to check out, I wouldn't find it too memorable compared to other yuri titles that better flesh out their characters and/or offer engaging elements to make it stick out of the norm.

This Yuri anime was beautifully done, from the characters, the art, the plot, and the love interests. I'm not really going to delve into the plot because the wiki does a fine job explaining it. I watched this anime because it was highly recommended by yuri lovers and it did not disappoint, even though it was more of a "tasteful" anime. At the end it definitely left me wanting more.

Thinking I was going to watch another Ichigo 100 I put this on. Oh my, it's a Yuri Marmite! (Which was 75% Yuri). If you like Yuri girls in a Catholic High school setting, this is the anime for you.
