Satonaka Ikko is an apprentice Buddhist priest. He is sent to Saien Temple whose chief priest is his grand mother, Jotoku. What's waiting for him there is severe training, numerous purification jobs, and six teenaged nuns. Living with a group of nuns of the same age might sound enviable, but actually he is treated as their errand boy, and his priestly and purification skills cannot compare with theirs. However, when his (perverted) worldly desires are awakened and stimulated, his latent spiritual powers appear and are strong enough to defeat any evil spirit.

I tried to sit through this one a few years back... but it really didn't catch my interest. After sitting through the first 2 or 3 episodes, I shelved it. Roll forward a few years and and I give it another shot.

Art, Animation & Character Designs
Artwork and animation was pretty good. Nice colors, great details and pretty smooth. Character designs were nothing special. More or less average in comparison to many other series.

Music
The OP had a nice chorus of female vocals. Cute, not bad. It was a nice light-hearted piece that fit well with the series. The rest of the soundtrack had some basic pianos, elevator music, some sythentic keyboards and similar. For the most part, they were light filler type of music and nothing really noticeable.

Series and Episode Story
As mentioned above, I had initially tried to watch this series a few years back but it just didn't catch my interest. This time around, I found it sorta fun to watch. I'm wondering how it didn't interest me back then because this series actually had some moments of humor and not-so-bad story telling.

One thing that you can't miss is the level of fan service. Actually, the whole series is based on fan service because even for Ikkou to "power up", he needs a catalyst... which happens to be a bit of female skin, some panties or breasts here and there. So ya, this series is big on fan service.

Overall, it wasn't a terrible series. It had enough in it to get a few laughs and some of the characters were enjoyable. Aside from that, there's not a whole lot else.

Unevaluated Stretch [series:1075#628]
(One episode watched):

Having seen this series mentioned by Jan-chan, I gave it a look. Episode one was dull and absurd (in a bad way). This show seems to rely heavily on fanservice at the expense of genuinely funny comedy. So far, the rule I stumbled upon recently has held true: A good show can be funny without being perverted, but not perverted without being funny. Basically, my first impression of Amaenaideyo (and I had taken the trouble to learn how to spell that) is that it's not worth the time it takes to watch it!

Through 1 episode...</p>

Yeah...boring story and unfunny as well. I suppose one has to be really Japanese to find this a hoot, but I don't. The excuse of fanservice to power Ikko is just stupid.

Watch Jan-Chan [series:1075#967]
Actually this is a watch+ (and perhaps a RENT but not much more). But be warned that ya might have to watch at least 5 or 6 episodes before ya get hooked and the story gets better.

Satonaka Ikko is just a normal teenage boy (which means that he is really turned on by cute girls, especially if they are exposing any of their private garments.) And he has been called to his grandma’s temple to team up with a five other teenaged female nuns to help out in the duties required around the Shinto temple.

What he does not know is that he has incredible spiritual power, which when awakened can defeat any evil spirit. The girls understand that quickest way to awaken Ikko’s hidden power is to appeal to his ‘perversion’!!!! So the story has Ikko’s team-mates repeatedly flashing their bod or private garments to summon Ikko’s hidden power to save them from that episode’s impossible situation.

The story is cute … lots of fan-service … and it does get (a bit) better in the later episodes, but it is still a story of teenager love and lust, with a lot of fan-service and ecchi scenes.

I dunno about this. The first episode was sorta boring and just plain stupid. While it was funny, the whole plot of Nun's who live with a Shinto Monk who gets powerful when he sees naked skin is just a BIT too much for me to believe.

Most likely it will be an Avoid, but I'll give it at least 4 episodes before I say that.
