Koi Kaze - 3: Gentle Breeze

Title:Koi Kaze
Episode:3: Gentle Breeze
Synopsis

Koushiro is finding it difficult to sleep because he keeps thinking of Nanoka. He reflects on their meeting and how Nanoka had patted his head. It was the same way his mother used to pat his head when he was a kid. Getting up, he finds a small teddy bear in a storage closet and reflects on an incident where he'd lost it as a kid. He ponders if giving the bear to Nanoka willmake him feel better about her. The next morning, Nanoka comes into Koushiro's room to see the bear hanging up to dry (he having washed it). She loves the bear and he gives it to her, since it was given to him by their mother. She in turn gives him the bear that their mother gave her as a kid, even though he really doesn't want it.

At school in gym class, Futaba-chan relates her story of coming to school late and meeting a cute guy on the train. She feels the meeting was fate and that she's destined for romance. However, Nanoka has a little problem which requires bathroom time. Meanwhile at Koushiro's job, he has a day off planned for the week, but one of his clients is supposed to have an omiai (marriage interview) that day. His boss decides to take care of it since Koushiro's been so out of it of late.

After school, Futaba-chan and Nanoka are walking home and talking about the boy Futaba-chan saw on the train. Futaba-chan spies him standing in a park and while Futaba-chan ponders what she should do about this obvious moment of fate, they see another girl from thier school meet him and kiss him. So much for fate.

That evening, Koushiro retuns home to find Nanoka taking some medicine and apparently not feeling well. She skips out on dinner, making their father worried. Koushiro ponders paying her a visit, but decides against it. Later, that night as he's watching TV, she comes down but doesn't say anything to him, rather puts on her shoes to go out. He wonders why she's going out so late at night, and she tells him she has bad cramps and wants to go for a walk. He decides to go for a walk with her and she explains that she hasn't had a period in three months, which apparently is not uncommon for a girl her age. The two walk hand in hand and Nanoka talks about seeing her friend Tamaki kiss the boy at the park.

The next day, Futaba-chan confronts Tamaki about the boy. Nanoka wonders about her brother's kissing experience and when she'll become a woman. Meanwhile, Koushiro is goofing off around the house and notices it raining and brings in the laundry, including Nanoka's underwear. He sees that she's forgotten apparently forgotten her umbrella. At first, he blows it off, but then goes to meet her at the train station anyway. Getting off the train, she has her small umbrella in her bad at the ready, but see's Koushiro waiting for her and decides to share his umbrella instead for the walk home.

Well, I still don't have a lot to say. Clearly a slice-of-life series, but it hasn't gripped me yet. Then again, I'm not eagerly anticipating the hookup that apparently is coming as I would if Nanoka and Koushiro were just a man and high school girl.
